To commemorate the 80th anniversary of Tom and Jerry‘s screen debut, Hankyu Railway has collaborated with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products to introduce a limited-time train service, photo spots, a stamp rally and collaboration goods featuring the iconic cat and mouse duo.
The commemorative Tom and Jerry train service will be offered from August 23, 2024 to March 27, 2025. Three Tom and Jerry trains will be offered, (1000 series and 1300 series), one each on the Kobe Line, Takarazuka Line, and Kyoto Line. Each train in the series will feature exclusive artwork of Tom and Jerry going to tourist spots along the Hankyu line and getting up to hilarious mischief along the way.
Additionally, the front and rear of each train will be adorned with original Tom and Jerry X Hankyu headmarks featuring original artwork of Tom and Jerry and friends dressed as train conductors. Plush toys of Tom and Jerry wearing maroon uniforms will also accompany the driver’s compartment.
The trains will also feature interior decorations, including original design posters and eye-catching stickers of Tom and Jerry getting up to mischief while dressed in maroon train conductor uniforms. The stickers cleverly depict Tom chasing Jerry throughout the train.
Hankyu Bus will also be offering two wrapped buses in two areas connected to Hankyu Railway stations from Friday, August 23rd.
Additionally, tickets a that allow unlimited rides for one day across all Hankyu Railway lines (excluding the Kobe Rapid Line), and most Hankyu Bus routes will be offered. The limited-time Tom and Jerry tickets feature an original Tom and Jerry design and can be kept as a memento of your trip.
A stamp rally will be held along the Hankyu Line, where you can collect “Tom and Jerry x Hankyu Railway” stamps and enter a lottery to win prizes including an original small plate set, and original art board. Players can present their completed card to receive an original card case as a participation prize. Photo spots where you can take photos with Tom and Jerry will also be set up at six stamp points.
