Hong Kong Disneyland has grown into a must-visit Disney destination in recent years, adding new attractions, immersive lands and a stunning new castle. Now, the resort is continuing that evolution with Ultimate Pixar Adventure, a new theatrical spectacular coming to the park’s immersive Toy Story Land in the first half of 2027.
Disney has revealed that the new show will take place inside a massive new theatre space in Toy Story Land, where guests will join Woody, Jessie, Buzz Lightyear, Rex and other familiar characters on an all-new Pixar adventure.
The story follows Poppy, an original Pixar character created exclusively for the show. Poppy is an adorable plush toy from Hong Kong who arrives in Andy’s neighbourhood with her owner, Aria. Sweet and a little shy, Poppy has a unique habit of curling into a ball whenever she feels nervous or overwhelmed.
As Poppy settles into her new home, Andy’s toys come together to welcome her and help her adjust to her new neighbourhood. Along the way, the characters take guests on an adventure through the worlds of Toy Story, Monsters, Inc., Cars, The Incredibles and Inside Out.
First announced as part of Hong Kong Disneyland’s 20th anniversary celebrations, Ultimate Pixar Adventure will use cutting-edge theatrical technology to bring the worlds of Pixar to life. The technology will blend real and digital environments, creating an immersive experience designed to connect generations of Pixar fans.
The show will also explore themes of friendship, belonging and finding confidence in unfamiliar surroundings, with Poppy’s journey at the centre of the story.
“Through beloved Pixar characters, guests will experience an emotional adventure that explores how meaningful friendships are built, nurtured, and celebrated over time,” said Michael Serna, Executive Creative Director, Disney Live Entertainment.
The new show will also feature details inspired by Hong Kong childhood memories. As guests explore the new backyard play space, they will discover references including Chinese chess, a rattle drum and egg tarts, reflecting the sights, sounds and treasured memories associated with Poppy’s home.
Poppy’s story will feature two original songs created through a collaboration between Disney Live Entertainment teams in Hong Kong and the United States, including “Bloom,” a bright, uplifting pop anthem.
There was also a surprise musical preview at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in Anaheim on September 15, 2026. Lucky attendees who happened to be around the Imagineering Horizons stage at the time were treated to a sneak peek of a new song that will feature in Ultimate Pixar Adventure.
Ultimate Pixar Adventure is scheduled to debut exclusively at Hong Kong Disneyland in the first half of 2027, adding a major new entertainment offering to Toy Story Land.
