Universal Beijing Resort is turning up the thrills this autumn with Scares @ Universal, returning bigger and bolder than ever from September 5 to November 2, 2025. This limited-time event promises an electrifying mix of haunted mazes, immersive scare zones, and exclusive performances that invite guests to embrace their “dare to” spirit.
Limited-Time Entertainment
The 2025 edition introduces new characters Emo Tu and Foxy Lady, joining Universal favourite HamiKuma for the first time on stage. Together, they lead the HamiKuma Hallow-Palooza, a high-energy showcase packed with music, dance, and unforgettable interactive moments.
Following the show, guests have the opportunity to meet Emo Tu, Foxy Lady and HamiKuma at the Freaky Friends Meet and Greet. The stage show will be presented in the park’s Hollywood area.
Haunted Mazes and Scare Zones
This year’s event adds two all-new haunted mazes to the lineup. Located in the Hollywood area, Universal Monsters Crypt gathers five iconic Universal characters—Dracula, Mummy, Frankenstein, Phantom, and The Wolf Man—offering film-quality scares that blur the line between cinema and reality.
Meanwhile, The House of Hua Pi (located in Minion Land) delivers a mysterious, narrative-driven experience where guests will witness the legendary Yaoguai (Hua Pi Demon)’s sinister plot firsthand.
Returning this year, Jack’s Circus will invite guests to explore a sinister circus to unravel an eerie mystery, encountering bizarre characters along the way. Jack’s twisted world will blend laughter and terror to create an unforgettable experience. The maze will be located at Minion Land.
The immersive House NO. 81 places guests in the shoes of a protagonist navigating a haunted film set. Visitors will explore haunted rooms and hallways in this narrative-driven experience that will keep guests on their toes until the very end. The maze can be found at Transformers Metrobase.
Two scare zones, Frenzy Street and Creepy Crawlies, also make their debut, transforming Hollywood and Sunset Boulevard into adrenaline-fuelled arenas where performers and guests interact in unexpected ways.
Limited-Time Food and Merchandise
It’s not a special event without food! During the Halloween season, foodies can indulge in themed offerings like the “Freaky Feast,” “Sweet & Creep,” and the photogenic Foxy Lady Specialty Drink.
The event also features a range of limited-edition merchandise including Emo Tu punk-style collectibles and HamiKuma Series exclusives.
Daytime Delights and Wizarding World Magic
Scares @ Universal isn’t just a nighttime affair. During the day, guests can meet Minion Monsters and other popular Universal characters in exclusive “Scares @ Universal” costumes.
At The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, the Death Eaters Takeover brings the darker side of magic to Hogsmeade, complete with exclusive merchandise and a multi-sensory adventure that challenges guests to pick their side.
Event Information
Scares @ Universal is included with regular theme park admission. Universal Studios Beijing will be open until 22:00 during the event, with the nighttime offerings running from Thursdays to Mondays. A number of ticket options are available including half-day and evening-only tickets and Express Passes.

Universal Studios Japan has affordable accommodations that are steps away from the park and have easy access to Osaka. I recommend checking prices through Booking.com followed by the hotels directly.
