Universal Studios Japan is set to celebrate Christmas this year with festive decorations, food and drink, a plethora of merchandise, and limited-time entertainment. “NO LIMIT! Christmas” will take place from November 21, 2023, to January 8, 2024.
This year’s Christmas will see the return of a nighttime Christmas live show for the first time in four years, in the form of Frosty’s Electric Snow Party. Additionally, the Park’s famous Christmas tree will see a brand-new design for the 2023 season.

Frosty’s Electric Snow Party
This year will mark the return of the nighttime Christmas live shows in the Park for the first time in four years. Frosty’s Electric Snow Party will feature DJ Frosty – a brand-new character created for the season – sporting an LED-covered muffler and coat surrounded by dancers clad in luminous costumes.
Attendees will be invited to partake in a choreographed dance routine to the specially prepared Christmas track, “Electric Frosty.” Park favorites including Minions, Elmo, Kitty, and Snoopy will join the high-energy party. The 20-minute show will take place in Gramercy Park, three times per day.

NO LIMIT! Party Tree
Universal Studios Japan’s stunning Christmas tree (which won the Guinness World Record for the most lights on an artificial Christmas tree for nine consecutive years until 2019,) will receive a brand-new design for the 2023 Christmas season. The 30-meter tree will feature large diamond-shaped ornaments.
Super Nintendo World Winter Decorations
Following last year’s success, Super Nintendo World will once again feature winter decor, including Mario and Luigi snowmen, wreaths and garlands on Peach’s Castle, and Christmas trees featuring ornaments inspired by power-ups and boxes from the hit franchise.
Minion Happy Christmas Greeting
It’s not a special event at Universal Studios Japan without Minions dressing up in themed costumes! This year, guests can enjoy the Minion Happy Christmas Greeting show at the park entrance, in addition to Minion Park. Guests can meet with the Minions dressed in Christmas costumes, including festive trees, reindeer, and angels.
Universal Wonderland Feel the Rhythm
At Universal Wonderland Feel the Rhythm, guests can meet with characters including Sesame Street and the Peanuts friends in limited-time Christmas costumes. At the greeting show, you can dance to Christmas songs with your favorite characters, and take a commemorative photo.
Universal Wonderland Feel the Rhythm will be offered approximately 5 times per day.
Power of Pop ~Christmas Holiday Heartbeat
The popular Power of Pop show will receive a winter season makeover. The limited-time show encourages guests to sing and dance along to four talented performers. The 20-minute show, which takes place in front of Mel’s Drive-in will be offered 5 to 8 times a day during the Christmas season.

Getting around Japan by the world-renowned bullet train, known as the Shinkansen, is incredibly fast, reliable, and affordable for visitors. You can travel from Tokyo to Osaka in just over 2 hours. Get the JR Rail Pass to save a ton of money on the bullet train for your trip.

Universal Studios Japan has affordable accommodations that are steps away from the park and have easy access to Osaka. I recommend checking prices through Booking.com followed by the hotels directly. Sometimes, you’re able to score some incredible deals. Here’s a short list of hotels at Universal Studios Japan I recommend.
- The Park Front Hotel at Universal Studios Japan – You’re directly in front of the Park gates and have instant access to Universal CityWalk Osaka. The rooms are gorgeous, with restaurants and even a Lawson (Japanese convenience store).
- The Singulari HOTEL & SKYSPA – Attached to the train station is a fantastic hotel for those who want a comfortable, clean, and stylish place to sleep. After a long day at Universal Studios Japan, the rooftop sento (public bath) is excellent for unwinding and relaxing.
