Universal Studios Japan Opens New Store at Kansai International Airport

Guests travelling through Kansai International Airport can now pick up exclusive Universal Studios Japan merchandise before boarding their flight, with the park officially opening its new airport store on June 2, 2026.

The Universal Studios Store Kansai International Airport is located inside Terminal 1’s newly renovated international departures area and marks the first permanent Universal Studios Japan official store to open at a Japanese airport. The opening coincides with the completion of Phase 4 of Kansai International Airport’s Terminal 1 redevelopment project.

To celebrate the opening, Woody and Winnie Woodpecker appeared in special 25th Anniversary costumes and joined a ceremony at the airport before welcoming the first guests into the shop.

The store features merchandise inspired by some of Universal Studios Japan’s most popular franchises, including Super Nintendo World, Minions, Hello Kitty, and Curious George. Guests will also find airport-exclusive merchandise, including a Curious George plush toy and matching plush keychain available only at the Kansai International Airport location.

The airport location also introduces several firsts for Universal Studios Japan outside the park. Two merchandise vending machines have been installed at Kansai International Airport, allowing guests to purchase select items even when the store is closed or if they are passing through other parts of the terminal.

Guests can also stop by a new photo booth located next to the store. The booth features exclusive Universal Studios Japan character-themed frames.

The Universal Studios Store Kansai International Airport is located on the second floor of Terminal 1 in the international departures area after security screening. The store operates daily from 6:30 a.m. to 12:55 a.m., although hours may vary depending on flight schedules.
