Universal Studios Japan Ticket Discounts for Summer 2020


Universal Studios Japan has announced that it will greatly discount various Express Passes, and will once again offer the popular Twilight Pass and 1.5 Day Studio Pass. These tickets will be available for admission between various dates from July to September 29, 2020. Read below for information on the ticket prices and sales dates.

Express Pass

Universal Studios Japan has halved the prices of various Express Passes for this summer. These tickets are rarely ever on sale and are expected to sell out pretty quickly. The prices below are the starting price of the ticket and may vary by date. All prices include tax.

  • Express Pass 7 (Hollywood Dream the Ride: Backdrop) – ¥5,400
  • Express Pass 7 (Sing on Tour) – ¥5,400
  • Express Pass 7 (The Flying Dinosaur) – ¥5,400
  • Express Pass 4 (Despicable Me Minion Mayhem) – ¥3,900
  • Express Pass 4 (The Flying Dinosaur) – ¥3,900
  • Express Pass 4 (Sing on Tour) – ¥3,900

The Express Passes will be available to purchase on the following dates:

  • Ticket admission date: July 23 – July 31, 2020. Sales date: July 6, 2020, at 4:00 PM JST
  • Ticket admission date: August 1 – August 31, 2020. Sales date: July 9, 2020
  • Ticket admission date: September 1 – September 29, 2020. Sales date: TBA

Tickets are available at the official online ticket store, Lawson Ticket, Official Hotels (guests only), Universal Travel, and park ticket booths. If tickets sell out in advance, they will not be sold at the park ticket booths.

Twilight Pass

The Twilight Pass ticket will allow entry from 3:00 PM. The number of tickets is limited, and these tickets will not be available at the park ticket booths.

Twilight Pass tickets will be available from July 10 – September 29, 2020. Tickets go on sale on July 6, 2020, at 2:00 PM JST.

The tickets start from the following prices (tax included), but may vary by date:

  • Adults (12 years and older) – ¥5,900
  • Children (4 to 11 years old) – ¥3,500

Tickets are available at the official online ticket store, Lawson Ticket, Loppi terminals, and Official Hotels (guests only).

1.5 Day Studio Pass

The 1.5 Day Studio Pass is recommended for those staying overnight at a nearby hotel. You can enter the park from 3:00 PM on the first day, and enjoy the entire second day from the park opening. These tickets will not be available at park ticket booths.

1.5 Day Studios Pass tickets will be available from July 10 – September 29, 2020. Tickets go on sale on July 6, 2020, at 2:00 PM JST.

The tickets start from the following prices (tax included), but may vary by date:

  • Adults (12 years and older) – ¥12,600
  • Children (4 to 11 years old) – ¥8,600

Tickets are available at the official online ticket store, Lawson Ticket, Loppi terminals, Universal Travel, JTB, JR West Ticket Window, JR Odekake Net e5489, and Official Hotels (guests only).
