Witch’s Valley Area to Open at Ghibli Park in March 2024

Visitors will soon have the chance to immerse themselves in the enchanting worlds of Howl’s Moving Castle and Kiki’s Delivery Service as Witch’s Valley at Ghibli Park prepares to debut on March 16th, 2024. This final phase marks the completion of the park, which has been unveiling its magic in stages.

Drawing inspiration from the landscapes of “Howl’s Moving Castle” and “Kiki’s Delivery Service,” visitors will explore Kiki’s residence, the Witch House from “Earwig and the Witch,” and the towering five-story castle featured in “Howl’s Moving Castle.”

Studio Ghibli has revealed a poster for the new area illustrated by Goro Miyazaki, the director overseeing the creation of Ghibli Park. The visual predominantly showcases the Witch’s Valley and Princess Mononoke, an area that opened in November 2023. Ghibli Park has also released new concept art of the many buildings of Witch’s Valley.

The area also features Ghibli Park’s first two conventional amusement park-style rides; a whimsical merry-go-round, where guests can ride on vehicles and animals from various Studio Ghibli anime, and a flying machine spinner-type ride.

Rides on the Merry-go-Round and Flying Machine are not covered by the ticket admission and cost an additional ¥500 for ages 3 to 12 and ¥1,000 for adults, per ride.
