World of Frozen Grand Opening Ceremony at Hong Kong Disneyland

Tell the guards to open up the gates! For the first time in forever, guests will be able to visit Arendelle and experience the World of Frozen! To commemorate the magical occasion, Hong Kong Disneyland hosted a grand opening ceremony on November 16 ahead of the land opening to the public on November 20

The opening gala featured performances by the Arendelle National Choir along with guest appearances by the CEO of The Walt Disney Company, Bob Iger, Chairperson of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Josh D’Amaro, Managing Director of Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, Michael Moriarty, and Jennifer Lee, Chief creative officer of Walt Disney Animation Studios.

“The Frozen franchise is one of the most successful in Disney history and it’s a testament to the power of great storytelling, which is the foundation of The Walt Disney Company. It’s been this way for 100 years, and our commitment to storytelling and creativity will continue to define our next 100.” – Bob Iger.

Following an Arendellian feast of delicious treats and canapé versions of the delicious food offered within the land, Elsa and Anna treated guests to a magical ‘Kiss Goodnight’ drone show featuring intricate patterns inspired by Elsa’s ice magic featured in the second film of the hit franchise.

While Arendelle is beautiful during the day, the area is truly stunning once the sun sets with glittering ice and snow, Elsa’s Ice Palace sitting atop the North Mountain, and the enchanted Friendship Fountain which glows in sync with the orchestral music of the land.

The immersive new land marks the largest expansion at Hong Kong Disneyland, and the first of three Frozen-themed lands to open internationally. For more about the World of Frozen at Hong Kong Disneyland, be sure to check our handy guide!
