This year celebrates the 10th anniversary of Universal Studios Japan’s seasonal Universal Cool Japan event, filled with thrilling collaborations with leading Japanese entertainment brands. The year-long event will feature the return of SPY×FAMILY for the first time in two years, along with a brand-new VR coaster experience and other exclusive, limited-time offerings.
Guests can dive into the spy-filled world of the Forger family from July 1, 2025, to January 4, 2026.
SPY×FAMILY XR Ride
The new limited-time overlay of Space Fantasy the Ride, “SPY×FAMILY XR Ride”, promises an action-packed journey where guests will ride through a super-realistic world of espionage alongside the Forger family. With a dynamic 360-degree ride experience, riders will face thrilling challenges as they team up with Lloyd, Yoru, Anya, and Bond to complete a high-stakes mission.
SPY×FAMILY Story Ride
Guests riding Hollywood Dream – The Ride during the campaign period can experience SPY×FAMILY Story Ride,” a high-speed, story-driven coaster experience featuring the Forger family. The story unfolds as visitors take a ride on a mine cart, flying above the park and encountering unexpected twists and thrills. *The ride will not be available on “Hollywood Dream – The Ride – Backdrop.
Exclusive Merchandise
Limited-time exclusive SPY X FAMILY merchandise will be available from June 30th. Items include a soft and fluffy headband featuring Anya, adorable plush keychains of Bond and Anya in her Eden School uniform, and an eye-catching graphic hoodie

Original Food
During the event, Parkside Grill will offer the SPY×FAMILY Parkside Grill Special Set – Lloyd’s Hamburger, featuring Lloyd’s hamburger steak served with Anya’s favourite peanut pie. Guests can pair their meal with specialty drinks such as “Anya’s Exciting Peach Frozen Soda” and “Bond’s Fluffy Tea Latte.”
Additionally, fans can pick from two types of new churritos inspired by the series to enjoy while exploring.
SPY×FAMILY Exciting! USJ Park Rally
Guests visiting during the campaign period can take part in a fun quiz rally while listening to the voices of the Forger family enjoying the holidays! The park rally will take place in the New York area, Amity Village, Hollywood area. More information to come!
SPY×FAMILY Special 1-Day Pass
A special ticket will be available to enhance your experience at the “SPY×FAMILY” collaboration event!
Starting Friday, April 25, 2025, the exclusive “SPY×FAMILY Special 1-Day Pass” will be available for visitors attending in July and August. This pass includes a bonus smartphone wallpaper featuring an original design, as well as a random badge (3 types). For an additional ¥1,000, you can secure a guaranteed ticket for priority access to restaurants offering exclusive collaboration menus.
Additionally, the “Universal Express Pass SPY×FAMILY XR Ride Special Pass” (including a ride photo) will be available for purchase, allowing you to enjoy the “SPY×FAMILY XR Ride” without the wait.

Getting around Japan by the world-renowned bullet train, known as the Shinkansen, is incredibly fast, reliable, and affordable for visitors. You can travel from Tokyo to Osaka in just over 2 hours. Get the JR Rail Pass to save a ton of money on the bullet train for your trip.
Book Your Hotel
Universal Studios Japan has affordable accommodations that are steps away from the park and have easy access to Osaka. I recommend checking prices through Booking.com followed by the hotels directly. Sometimes, you’re able to score some incredible deals. Here’s a short list of hotels at Universal Studios Japan I recommend.
- The Park Front Hotel at Universal Studios Japan – You’re directly in front of the Park gates and have instant access to Universal CityWalk Osaka. The rooms are gorgeous, with restaurants and even a Lawson (Japanese convenience store).
- The Singulari HOTEL & SKYSPA – Attached to the train station is a fantastic hotel for those who want a comfortable, clean, and stylish place to sleep. After a long day at Universal Studios Japan, the rooftop sento (public bath) is excellent for unwinding and relaxing.
- Hotel Universal Port – This is an excellent hotel for the Minion fan in your family, only a 5-minute walk from Universal Studios Japan. It also boasts the largest breakfast buffet in Japan, a must during your visit.

Universal Studios Japan only offers free Wi-Fi at the park’s entrance. That’s not enough to stay connected and share your day with everyone back home on Instagram to give them FOMO. Here’s how you can stay connected while travelling in Japan.
- Pocket Wi-Fi – If you’re travelling with a group or have multiple devices, this is your best and most affordable way to stay connected to the internet. Pick up and drop off at the airport. Easy.
