Fuji-Q Highland is about to get a serious dose of cute with the arrival of a brand-new themed area dedicated to San-X characters. Opening on 1 August 2026, San-X Paradise brings together the worlds of San-X and Fuji-Q Highland in a permanent land filled with attractions, dining, shopping, and character encounters inspired by the wider San-X Universe.

Located inside Fuji-Q Highland, San-X Paradise is designed around the idea of “kawaii” meeting amusement park thrills. Visitors will be able to step into a space where characters appear throughout the area, featuring favourites including Rilakkuma, Sumikko Gurashi, and more from the San-X Universe.
A free opening ceremony is scheduled for launch day on 1 August 2026, held at the entrance of San-X Paradise, with further details to be announced closer to opening.
Attractions
Two headline outdoor attractions will debut at opening. Rilakkuma’s Makumaku Sweets Buffet is a classic pendulum-style boat ride themed around a sweet-filled journey with Rilakkuma, surrounded by cookies-and-cream inspired scenery.

Sumikko Gurashi Balloon Cupcakes lifts guests into the air on rotating cupcake vehicles for a gentle aerial spin above the park. An indoor attraction is also planned for a later phase.

Meet-and-greets, games, and more
Inside the “MEMORY STUDIO” photo space, guests can meet Rilakkuma and Tokage in exclusive San-X Paradise costumes for special photo moments. The adorable building is designed to resemble a camera.

At “WAKUWAKU CARNIVAL”, arcade-style games offer simple, playful challenges with original prizes up for grabs. More information about this area will be available at a later date.
Shopping and dining in San-X style
The Clover Palace Shop brings a touch of fantasy to retail, set inside a grand palace-inspired space. Guests will find over 150 exclusive items created for San-X Paradise, including plush toys, stationery, keychains, and wearable headbands designed for exploring the park in full character style.

At the San-X Paradise Cafe & Diner, the vibe shifts to a colourful pop-art diner serving character-inspired dishes. Expect menu items like Rilakkuma curry, Shirokuma white stew, and themed parfaits, and more. The venue offers both indoor seating and a terrace overlooking the park.
