Donald Duck turns 91 this year! The fiery Disney favourite first appeared in the 1934 short The Wise Little Hen, and to celebrate his 9 June anniversary, Disney Store Japan is launching two limited-edition merchandise collections. Donald the King Birthday showcases Donald in regal attire, complete with a jewelled crown, while Donald Mokomoko Birthday features him in his classic white and blue sailor look.
The Donald the King Birthday lineup includes a variety of items, from a plush toy and matching plush keychain of Donald striking a cool pose with his arms crossed, to a plush keychain, a dark blue long-sleeved shirt perfect for birthday festivities, as well as a tote bag, pouch, and more. Plus, a new Donald plush dressed in a king’s outfit will join the popular “Urupocha-chan” plush toy series.
The Donald Mokomoko Birthday lineup features apparel inspired by Donald’s signature look, including a short-sleeved sailor-collar shirt with a red ribbon and a fluffy balloon skirt. The range also offers fashion accessories like berets and versatile pochettes, perfect for coordinating a full Donald-inspired outfit.
Disney Store Japan’s Donald Duck birthday merchandise will be available from May 13th at select Disney Store locations and the official Disney online store, followed by a wide release on May 16th.
