Disney’s Winnie The Pooh Musical Makes Japanese Debuts in Tokyo

A Winnie the Pooh musical is set to tour Japan, bringing the whimsical world of the Hundred Acre Woods to life like never before with larger-than-life-size puppets, gorgeous sets, and beloved music old and new. Originally premiering at New York City’s Theater Row in 2021, the long-awaited Japanese premiere made its debut in Tokyo on April 27.

The production features an all-new story in which Winnie the Pooh, Christopher Robin, Piglet, Eeyore, Rabbit, Owl, Kanga, and Roo (and don’t forget Tigger!) go on whimsical adventures through the seasons. The much-loved characters are brought to life with next-generation larger-than-life plush puppets.

The show features original songs written by Disney legends, Robert and Richard Sherman, with songs including ‘Winnie the Pooh’, ‘The Wonderful Thing About Tiggers’ and ‘A Rather Blustery Day.’ Additionally, recognisable tunes from the 1980s The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh television series, Piglet’s Big Movie (2003), and The Tigger Movie (2000) will be featured throughout.

While Disney’s Winnie the Pooh musical is designed for families with younger children, guests of all ages will enjoy the high production values and the amazing puppetry.

Original Merchandise

Naturally, a large selection of original merchandise will be available for purchase at the venue, with items including plush toys, keychain, bags, mini face towels, and a story book depicting the musical’s story.

Tour Schedule

Following its debut in Tokyo, Winnie The Pooh will head off on a national tour, visiting locations including Chiba, Osaka, Miagi, and Hiroshima before finishing up in Shizuoka. Tickets can be purchased here.
