Explores get excited, ’tis almost time for Hong Kong Disneyland’s “Christmas Celebration”.  Running from November 16, 2017, to January 1, 2018, the festivities will include a special Christmas castle show, tree lighting ceremony, and new food and merchandise.

Festive Entertainment

This year Hong Kong Disneyland has enough Christmas cheer to impress Scrouge himself. At the centre of the celebrations is the “Mickey and Friends Christmastime Ball”, a festival show performed on a special Christmas-themed stage in front of the park’s castle. The show sees Mickey, Minnie and other characters, bring Christmas wishes to life, and features Christmas music and dance. As well as a grumpy Donald Duck who isn’t that his wish hasn’t come true yet.

As night falls, guests can head to Main Street USA for the “A Holiday Wish-Come-True” Tree Lighting Ceremony. Every evening, the park’s giant tree will be illuminated with musical accompanied by a live quartet of singers performing Christmas tunes. The ceremony also includes Christmas Townfolk with special lanterns, Disney characters, and snow! That’s right, Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Chip ‘n’ Dale, as well as Duffy, ShellieMay, Gelatoni, and StellaLou, join the crowds to wish for some magical Christmas snowfall.

Finally, after the park’s fireworks display, guests leaving the park will be wished goodnight by Christmas carolers in the Town Square. A fitting end to an extremely Christmassy day.

Season’s Greetings

As well as the festive entertainment, the park is hosting special Christmas character greetings throughout the event.

The highlight has to be “Santa Goofy’s Post Office”. Not only do guests meet Santa Goofy in his festive outfit, but they can write a seasonal message to a loved one complete with a special Santa Goofy commemorative stamp.

Guests can also meet with Mickey and his friends in special Christmas outfits, with StellaLou joining Duffy, ShellieMay, and Gelatoni for her first Christmas too. Finally, everyone’s favourite snowman, Olaf from Frozen, returns to the park this Christmas.

Festive food and Gifts

Hong Kong Disneyland is launching a selection of delicious treat and dining experiences in the park and the resort’s hotels. Chef Mickey and the Enchanted Garden Restaurant will introduce a special Christmas lunch set and dinner buffet. With characters also dropping in to celebrate with diners.

For those who love some Christmas shopping, Hong Kong Disneyland will be releasing information on the limited Christmas merchandise soon.

Before Christmas comes to Disneyland, there’s still time to enjoy Halloween Time complete with spooky walk-through “Nightmare Experiment 2” and wicked “Villains Night Out” parade.
